Soul-Centered Coaching (SSC)

What is Soul-Centered Coaching?

Soul-Centered Coaching is a therapeutic modality that uses elements from Depth Psychology, also known as Psychoanalytic Psychology, Somatic Therapy, Contemplative Disciplines, and Shamanic techniques.

In SCC, we recognize the importance of the unconscious and/or the Soul-Self of the individual. C.G. Jung spoke of a centering healing aspect inherent within our psyche that has a natural tendency towards wholeness.

We have become extremely one-sided in our western cartesian society where ego consciousness, mind, and reason have been elevated to God-quality levels of importance with the devaluation of anything else. With the advent of Depth Psychology at the beginning of the 20th century, we have recovered the concept of the “unconscious”, that unknown part within every human being that can feel scary and irrational. Sigmund Freud brought the concept of the personal unconscious as a recipient of all those repressed/suppressed memories, desires, and instincts. C.G. Jung amplified that with his theory of the Collective Unconscious. The Collective Unconscious is a wider space containing all of humanity's content every idea, desire, thought past, present, and future. This would equal what quantum physicists have referred to as, the field of quantum potentiality, where the blueprint of everything manifested and not yet manifested exists.

Who is Soul-Centered Coaching For?

This is an extremely rich process of unfolding that connects us with the symbolic life of our unconscious and dreams, with our bodies, and the patterns that populate our inner world.

This is for anyone experiencing life stresses, difficulties, needing to make decisions while feeling stuck, feeling stuck in old patterns/belief systems, reconnecting with body awareness, reconnecting with and understanding your dreams, going through life transitions, or a desire for deeper self-knowledge.

How do we work in Soul-Centered Coaching?

Sessions are conducted via Zoom/Facetime and run from 75-90 minutes.

I do like to work by leading the client into a technique called Open Awareness which is a relaxed inwardly oriented place that can feel slightly expanded or altered. It is in this space that the client can get in touch with archetypal motifs, contents of the unconscious, and somatic experiences that can help identify the patterns that might be running in the background. We will also engage in conversation with each other throughout our sessions.  Transpersonal Soul-centered coaching is not goal or advice-oriented as other types of coaching might be. We will work together to access the wisdom of your inner healer while I provide the guiding tools to understand the symbolic language in which a lot of this content tends to show up. I will act as the facilitator or space holder for you to discover your own capacities for meaning making and healing.

We can work with DreamWork as part of your coaching sessions if there are dreams that are coming up for you as we engage in this work. If you wish to focus your work on dreams then go to the section on Dreamwork.

Astrology reading can be a great tool to provide us with the map of inner landscapes and the current situation.

It is important that you do not schedule something right after your session to have time to journal, paint, be in silent meditation, move your body, and do whatever is necessary to integrate the experience.

Man becomes whole, integrated, calm, fertile, and happy when (and only when) the process of individuation is complete when the conscious and the unconscious have learned to live at peace and to complement one another.

Can anyone do Soul-Centered Coaching?

Yes, even if you don’t have any experience with guided meditation or the imaginal realm, you can participate in SCC. We all have the capacity to engage with this part of ourselves even if we never have.

How many sessions will I need?

I offer sessions in packages of 4 over 2 months, 6 over 3 months, and 12 over 6 months. Most people do bi-weekly sessions but you are welcome to do them weekly if you feel that this is a better fit for you.

Even though you are in charge of this part and there is no prescribed time commitment,  I would ask you to commit to the number of sessions you have decided on as part of your commitment with yourself. This work can trigger our resistance and defense mechanism and having the urge to run away from it can be very normal. After our package is complete, I will check in with you to see what feels right.

Cancellation Policy: Any cancellation with less than 24 hours will be considered as one of your paid sessions but please communicate with me. I value communication above all and I understand that sometimes life happens.

Unlike many forms of coaching, which rely on cognitive-behavioral techniques to shift attitudes and habits, transpersonal coaching is based on both psychological and spiritual tenets that empower both coach and client to connect with deeper, more creative, and more peaceful and powerful aspects of ourselves through engaging with the unconscious.
