This was so until the paradigm shift, we went through during the Renaissance created the split between nature and science rendering anything that didn't strictly fit within the parameters of logic and reason, as faulty. 

This led us to be cut off from the righter brain qualities of psyche, cutting us off from our connection to the imaginal, the symbolic, myth, and even nature itself.

The word Astrology comes from the Greek words of "Logos" and "Astros" which means the Language of Celestial Bodies. It is not a divinatory instrument but a science that leads to intimate self-knowledge. It's a symbolic language that can provide context to what we experience internally and externally.

Astrology, as the study of time and cycles, can pinpoint to which cycle we are in or going into, what the archetypal or energetic flavor of such cycles are, and how to best “work” with them.

(Evolutionary Astrology is a paradigm that focuses on the evolutionary purpose of the soul. It seeks to respond to the questions of why we are here, what our purpose is, how to go along with it, why we seem to be stuck on certain patterns, etc. These are questions most of us relate to).

The astrological mandala or natal chart represents the imprint the person is born under. The chart doesn't determine personality. The astrological mandala is nothing but a picture, a snapshot of the moment the soul decides to incarnate.  This mandala is the map, never to be confused with the territory, that can guide us back to our Soul’s purpose or Soul-Self.
